Report: Crystal Palace want to sign West Ham midfielder Alex Song

Crystal Palace target Alex Song remains contracted to Barcelona.

Alex Song is a summer transfer target for Crystal Palace, report The Sun.

Song is currently on loan at West Ham for a second successive season, but the Hammers are not expected to push to sign him on a permanent basis.

He remains under contract to Barcelona who he joined from Arsenal, with The Sun reporting his wages are £80,000 per week.

This would certainly be a sticking point for Palace, yet the report states Barcelona have made him available at a cut price fee of £4 million, which could make the deal financially tempting for Alan Pardew's side.

Song, 28, has made 12 Premier League appearances for the Hammers this season, eight of which have been starts.

He was more involved under Sam Allardyce last season, starting 25 league games plus a further three showings from the bench, providing three assists.

Palace had a strong start to the season but faded in 2016 and now sit in the bottom half of the table, drawing 2-2 with West Ham earlier this month.
