Predicted Newcastle line-up to play Liverpool: Benitez goes strong against former club

Liverpool Supporters

Here is how we predict Liverpool and Newcastle United will line up this weekend:

To be played on Saturday 23rd April 2016 at 14:00. Venue: Anfield, Liverpool

Odds: Liverpool 4/7, Draw 10/3, Newcastle 9/2

Newcastle United travel to Anfield on Saturday to face Liverpool in their latest Premier League encounter, with Magpies manager Rafa Benitez returning to his old stomping ground.

The Spaniard has inspired an upturn in form at St James’ Park, with Newcastle defeating Swansea City 3-0 last weekend before drawing 1-1 with Manchester City during the week.

Those four points have given Newcastle hope of securing their top-flight status for another season but there is still plenty of football to be played.

With two from three of Newcastle, Sunderland and Norwich City almost certainly going down, every point will be vital between now and the end of the campaign.

As for Liverpool, they are in great form and will be looking to build on their impressive victories against Borussia Dortmund, Stoke City and Everton in recent weeks.

In early team news, Liverpool are without Joe Gomez, Emre Can, Jordan Henderson, Jordan Rossiter, Christian Benteke and Danny Ings.

Newcastle cannot call on a whole host of players including Rob Elliot, Tim Krul, Daryl Janmaat, Massadio Haidara and Steven Taylor while Fabricio Coloccino remains a major doubt.
