Predicted Aston Villa line-up to play Southampton: Youngsters get their chance

Here is how we predict Aston Villa and Southampton will line up this weekend:

To be played on Saturday 23rd April 2016 at 14:00. Venue: Villa Park, Birmingham

Odds: Aston Villa 6/1, Draw 3/1, Southampton 8/15

Aston Villa welcome Southampton to Villa Park on Saturday as Eric Black’s side play their first match since having their relegation from the Premier League confirmed.

What most Villa fans had known for quite some time finally happened last Saturday as the 1-0 defeat against Manchester United condemned the club to the second tier of English football and caretaker boss Black has some interesting decisions to make for the remainder of the season.

With their fate sealed surely the time has come for Villa to give some of their exciting young players a chance; after all, they will not fare any worse than their under-performing senior teammates.

As for Southampton, they have plenty still to play for with a top-six finish still possible if they go on a winning run between now and the end of the campaign.

In early team news, Villa are without Gabby Agbonlahor and Jordan Amavi but have an otherwise clean bill of health.

Southampton cannot call on Charlie Austin, while there are minor doubts regarding Florin Gardos, Victor Wanyama and Jose Fonte although all three are rated at 75 per cent to be ready if called upon.
