Tottenham are enjoying an excellent league campaign, and are currently sitting in second place.
Spurs are currently five points behind league leaders Leicester City with four games to go in what has been a surprise title chase, with the Foxes only just avoiding relegation last term, while Tottenham have made great strides under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
King told Goal: "It's been an unbelievable season so far and I think the team has probably exceeded expectations in the way they've performed, and how well they've come on from last season.
"So for the team to win the Premier League would be unbelievable but it's still important to remember how far the team has come from just one year ago, and the most important thing is to just maintain that going forward."
At the start of the season you would've got pretty good odds on Tottenham finishing in the top four, so to be almost guaranteed of second place is an achievement in itself in that context, but Spurs are playing football that is making them worthy of title contenders.
They responded emphatically to Leicester's 2-2 with West Ham United at the weekend by thumping Stoke City 4-0 at the Britannia Stadium in order to edge closer to their title rivals.
Regardless of the title race, achieving Champions League football for next season represents a good campaign from Mauricio Pochettino's men, and shows that a fine team has been built at White Hart Lane, with more work to do in the season ahead. The challenge will be to stay in the mix and make themselves a real force.
After the steps they took last season in reaching a cup final, improving as the season went on to making the giant strides in this campaign, they certainly don't look like the kind of side that will fall away.
In terms of this season's title race, all Tottenham can do is keep winning and hope that Leicester manage to drop enough points during this run-in.
