The Reds were in scintillating form on Wednesday evening as they ran out comfortable 4-0 winners in the Merseyside derby.
The whole team were in fine form during the game, with the attack in particular catching the eye and James Milner enjoying his best game in a Liverpool shirt.
The defence, who weren’t troubled throughout, played their part too though and Sakho was among them, scoring the second goal of the game and keeping Romelu Lukaku to a spectator role at best.
The Frenchman remains something of an enigma at Anfield, and Riise’s tweet perfectly sums up how many fans feel about him.
Sakho will now be hoping he can keep up his current rich vein of form between now and the end of the season.
Great first half! Well done! Milner with 2 assists.. Even though Sakho sometimes scares me during the game, I freaking love him— John Arne Riise (@JARiiseOfficial) April 20, 2016
He has certainly started to impress under Jurgen Klopp’s leadership, forming something of a decent partnership with Dejan Lovren in the heart of defence.
Indeed, it will be interesting to see who the German makes his first choice pair in future with all of his players currently making firm claims for regular spots and Joel Matip arriving in the summer also.
