Europa League can help Liverpool in transfer window, says Aldridge

Klopp Scouse Lesson

The Reds beat Borussia Dortmund 4-3 at Anfield last week.

Success in the Europa League will help Liverpool to attract players in the summer transfer window, John Aldridge has told 888 Sport.

The Reds enjoyed another fine European night at Anfield last week as they managed to overcome Borussia Dortmund.

In a scintillating game, they came back from 3-1 down to win the game 4-3 and secure a place in the Europa League semi finals against Villareal.

They are now among the favourites for the competition, as they eye winning it to earn the Champions League place that is awarded to the victors.

Aside from the Champions League place, Aldridge believes that nights such as that against Dortmund could prove a big attraction for new players.

“If we can win the Europa League it will make life in the transfer market a lot easier for Jurgen,” he told 888 Sport.

“He’s got a great stature so players will want to come and play for him and after what we saw at Anfield against Dortmund, players will look at that and think ‘I’d love to play there. That is incredible’.

“So last Thursday was a massive marketing tool for Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp is as well. If we can get into the Champions League he can go out and do some serious damage I’m sure.”

Klopp certainly is looking likely to be a big factor in drawing players to Liverpool this summer.

The German is clearly building something at the club, and will be hoping that he can complete the work he wants to do in the summer transfer window.

If he can mould the squad as he wishes, there is no denying the Reds could be set for a very bright future indeed.
