The midfielder was keen to praise the Argentine for his impressive record.
The striker opened the scoring in Tuesday’s game with Newcastle United, heading home a cross in the 1-1 draw.
Replays showed the goal to have been a contentious one, with it transpiring the officials had missed that he was well offside when the ball was played.
Aguero was not concerned though, as he wheeled away to celebrate his 100th strike in the Premier League for the Citizens.
He becomes the first South American to reach that landmark, and the second quickest to do so behind Magpies legend Alan Shearer, having managed it in 147 appearances.
It is an impressive record, and his teammate Samir Nasri was quick to praise him on Twitter.
Congratulation crack @aguerosergiokun 100 goals in the prem great achievement— Samir Nasri Official (@SamNasri19) April 19, 2016
Aguero will now be hoping he can add more goals to his tally between now and the end of the season to ensure City secure a top four finish.
Next season he can look forward to the arrival of Pep Guardiola as manager, with the Spaniard’s style sure to only enhance his already stellar goal record at the club.
