Norwich and Sunderland will be uneasy with Newcastle draw, says Quinn

The Magpies drew 1-1 with Manchester City on Tuesday evening.

Newcastle United’s draw against Manchester City will have left Norwich City and Sunderland uneasy, Niall Quinn has told Sky Sports, broadcast from 7pm on April 19.

The Magpies secured a vital point on Tuesday evening as they came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

The result moved Newcastle to within a point of Sunderland in 18th and two from Norwich in 17th position, giving them a huge boost in their survival hopes.

Indeed, the result is unlikely to have to been missed by the two sides and Quinn believes they will both have been left feeling nervous by it.

“It’s a fantastic point for Newcastle,” he told Sky Sports.

“It keeps the momentum going and sends the message out that they’re on the up and up. I know Norwich and Sunderland will look at that and feel uneasy.”

The relegation battle certainly looks like going right down to the wire with Newcastle suddenly having picked up under Rafa Benitez in the last two games.

The problem is, that Crystal Palace now look secure in 16th place as they sit nine points clear of Sunderland and eight ahead of Norwich City in 17th place.

That means there is only one place up for grabs and it appears one, or potentially both, of the North East teams will be going down regardless of their improved form.
