The result secured Leicester City a top three place and a place in the Champions League group stages, avoiding the qualifiers.
Gary Lineker has expressed his delight on Twitter after Leicester City secure an automatic place in the Champions League next season.
The Foxes secured a place at Europe’s top competition earlier this month after Tottenham beat Manchester United.
However, despite them currently sitting top of the table, they could still have mathematically finished fourth and had to play a dreaded qualifier.
That will delight Foxes fans, and Lineker is among them, sharing his joy on Twitter.
A point for Manchester City which means Leicester are guaranteed a top 3 finish and go straight into the @ChampionsLeague proper. Brilliant!— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) April 19, 2016
With Champions League football now secured, Claudio Ranieri’s side will now be hoping they can secure the Premier League title too.
They currently sit top of the table with four games remaining, but Tottenham Hotspur are now only five points behind in second.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are hot on their heels and determined to take the race to the wire, with Monday’s impressive 4-0 win over Stoke City showing their credentials at title challengers.
