Sunderland are set to welcome back both Jack Rodwell and Jeremain Lens to their first-team against Arsenal.
Rodwell and Lens were both unavailable last Saturday, when Sunderland beat Norwich City 3-0, after picking up knocks.
However, the pair have both returned to full training this week, and they have suffered no repercussions of their previous injuries.
“They’re back in the squad, there’s no doubt about that,” Allardyce said.
“Having a fully fit squad leaves me with the problem of leaving people out, who don’t even get on the bench.
“But it does give me good options in terms of selection or making substitutions.
“The subs can make a difference to the team and make it better.”
Rodwell and Lens are likely to have to be on the substitutes’ bench at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.
Sunderland were excellent against Norwich at Carrow Road, and Allardyce is not expected to make many changes to his line-up.
Lens’ and Rodwell’s inclusions improve Sunderland’s options, though, as they aim to cause an upset against the Gunners.
The Black Cats could move out of the relegation zone if they are able to pick up the three points in North London, so the incentive is there for them to cause a shock.
Sunderland’s relegation rivals Newcastle United face a match against Liverpool this weekend, while 17th placed Norwich are not in action.
