Report: Aston Villa left-back Aly Cissokho agrees two-year deal with Besiktas

Aly Cissokho

The Frenchman looks like heading out of Aston Villa this summer.

Turkish giants Besiktas are set to join what looks like an all Turkish race to sign Aston Villa left-back Aly Cissokho.

At the weekend it was reported by Haber Turk that Cissokho has previously held talks with Turkish club Trabzonspor over a potential Turkish switch and will once again discuss a move to the club in the summer.

Now reports in Turkey suggest that Besiktas are also keen on the French defender.

Ajansspor is reporting that Besiktas are looking at the Villa star to improve their defence ahead of next season. They claim that Trabzonspor will not get their hands on the player, as Besiktas have already agreed a deal for the arrival of Cissokho with his older brother and agent.

The Frenchman has struggled for top form since becoming a Villa player in 2014 and started the season out on loan at Porto. He was recalled in December to cover at left-back after a season-ending injury to his countryman Jordan Amavi.

He has played 16 times for Villa this season and it would be no surprise to see his wages moved off the bill with Turkey seemingly a likely destination.
