London return? Spurs reportedly want Andre Schurrle as Harry Kane cover

Schurrle Chelsea

Tottenham are reportedly keen on Wolfsburg forward Andre Schurrle.

According to a report from The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move to land Wolfsburg forward Andre Schurrle this summer.

Spurs are heading back to the Champions League next season whether they win the Premier League or not, and one major position of concern for manager Mauricio Pochettino is up front.

Harry Kane has smashed another 24 Premier League goals this season, but there is little to no depth behind him - and finding suitable cover is vital for Pochettino this summer.

Now, The Mirror report that Tottenham have turned their attention towards Wolfsburg forward Andre Schurrle, who many will remember from his time with Chelsea.

The 25-year-old spent 18 months with the Blues having starred with Bayer Leverkusen, and scored 14 goals in 65 games for Chelsea before heading back to his native Germany with Wolfsburg in January 2015.

Schurrle has hit nine goals for Wolfsburg this season, but he and his fiancee are believed to be keen to leave Wolfsburg this summer, with a shock return to London on the cards.

It's claimed that intermediaries have already started talks over a deal to send Schurrle to Tottenham this summer, with the German World Cup winner seen as a player who can not only cover for Kane up front, but also add quality out wide and pose a goal threat wherever he plays.
