Leeds United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at Elland Road yesterday.
Leeds United attacker Lee Erwin failed to impress every supporter at Elland Road, during the Yorkshire side’s 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers last night.
Erwin was surprisingly selected to start for Leeds yesterday, but he struggled to make too much of an impression on the match.
The Scottish forward was played down the left-wing, and it seemed to take him a while to get involved in the contest.
Erwin did improve after the break, but his performance still did not win over every supporter in attendance at Elland Road.
Just home good 2nd half performance but playing coyle and erwin on the wings didnt work. Botaka looked lively coming on— Liam Rawlings (@lufc_liam) April 19, 2016
We clapped Lee Erwin off against Wolves... And we never saw him again. #lufc— Stephen Clark (@clarkyboy72) April 19, 2016
Lee Erwin has grew in confidence in the second half. Good on the lad. #lufc— I'd Radebe Leeds (@Radebe_Leeds) April 19, 2016
Wood looks good though. Erwin having a bit of a Weston-super. #lufc— Biff (@StevieBiff) April 19, 2016
Erwin has had a difficult first season at Leeds, and this was his first start for the club - meaning his lack of sharpness was, perhaps, understandable.
When Erwin was taken off he was replaced by a player who has featured even more rarely throughout the campaign in Jordan Botaka.
Leeds fans have called for the winger to be utilised regularly, but Steve Evans has been loathed to play the skilful wide-man.
However, Botaka put in an impressive cameo last night, and Leeds fans were largely impressed with his showing.
Great 2nd half, kept ball well, Botaka decent when he come on, Cook and Dave ran the show in midfield. Good workrate from Wood. @WYSdaily— Lucas (@LM_LUFC) April 19, 2016
Would love to see Botaka get a few more games tbh.. Looks lively and can easily change a game :) #LUFC— Rossi (@MrROSSii1990) April 19, 2016
Oh what's this Botaka playing with skill and flair like we've all said and now he's showing it!!! #lufc— James (@jimmy_L_UFC) April 19, 2016
