Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the in-form Italian.
According to a recent report from the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to battle the great and the good of European football for Pescara striker Gianluca Lapadula this summer…and considering his alleged price-tag a move for the Italian would surely be a no-brainer.
The report claims it is likely to take a bid of around £6million to bring the forward to England, and when you consider he has scored 22 goals in 36 appearances this season, surely he is worth a punt.
Tottenham are going to need additional fire-power next year given their presence in the Champions League and the fact that every other side in the Premier League will want to beat them having seen their emergence this time round.
When you also factor in how fortunate Tottenham have been with injuries this season – especially when it comes to Harry Kane – it would be no surprise if manager Mauricio Pochettino moved not for one but for two new strikers this summer.
At 26, Lapadula is arguably reaching the peak of his career and for £6million he would be a risk worth taking, leaving additional funds for chairman Daniel Levy to bid for a player like Michy Batshuayi or Saido Berahino.
Goal-scorers rarely come cheap, but in the case of Lapadula that may be exactly the case, and while he is currently plying his trade in Serie B he could be the kind of super-sub Tottenham rely on plenty of times next season and beyond.
