The Newcastle United players were training on Monday ahead of the Premier League game against Manchester City at home on Tuesday evening.
Newcastle will head into the match against City at St. James’ Park on the back of a 3-0 victory over Swansea City at home.
The Magpies are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 28 points from 33 matches.
Rafael Benitez’s side are three points behind 17th-placed Norwich City and are in serious danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Newcastle players were training hard on Monday, with Benitez looking very serious (see photos below).
The former Liverpool and Real Madrid boss knows how tough his job is, and he seemed very serious during Monday’s training session.
Winning against City will not be easy, but it should be encouraging to the Newcastle fans that Benitez was very serious Monday’s training.
The St. James’ Park faithful should also be encouraged by the fact that striker Aleksandar Mitrovic was working hard on his shooting skills during training (see photos below).
The 21-year-old Serbia international has scored eight goals and created 25 chances in 29 Premier League appearances for Newcastle so far this season.
Mitrovic has a pass accuracy of 72% and a shot accuracy of 49%, and has won 66 headers, 16 dribbles and 12 tackles.
The youngster will be a key figure for Newcastle against City, and he could prove to be the player who scores the winning goal in the match.
