Arsene Wenger’s men have the best percentage of any team for duels in the Premier League.
Arsenal's Premier League failures are often attributed to their players lacking bite, determination and a will to win.
However, that area of thought may now be banished towards fallacy status after Squawka revealed statistics to prove that the Gunners ranked higher than any other Premier League side when it came to duels.
Broken down into successful tackle, take on and aerial percentages, Arsenal’s players come out on top with a high-scoring 52 percent of successful duels.
Their closest challengers Everton - on 50 percent - are the only other team in England’s top-flight with a score over halfway.
Interestingly, according to Squawka, league leaders Leicester City have a much lower score of 45 percent, which sees them down in 19th position, just one place above Manchester United.
Arsenal have long been accused of lacking a towering defensive midfielder to control play in the mould of iconic former play-maker Patrick Vieira.
However, this stat show the team’s failure to lift a domestic title in over a decade cannot be attributed toward their lack of success when challenging opponents either on the ground or in the air.
