According to The Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to reunite with Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - but the £75m asking price is out of their reach.
Klopp has seen attackers like Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi all impress in recent weeks, but with question marks over the future of Christian Benteke, the German may yet want to bring in another goalscorer for next season.
The Mirror report that Klopp is keen on bringing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Anfield - but the money involved appears to be out of Liverpool's reach.
Gabon forward Aubameyang was in fact signed by Klopp in 2013, as he moved to Dortmund from Saint-Etienne, but few could have expected him to become such an elite forward.
41 goals in his first two seasons for the Bundesliga giants was an impressive record, but he has exploded this season, smashing a remarkable 37 goals in 44 games, including one against Liverpool at Anfield a week ago.
Known for his blistering, world-class pace, there are few players in the world who can replicate what Aubameyang offers, and he could become a real difference-maker for Liverpool.
However, it's suggested that Dortmund want a whopping £75m for Aubameyang, and Liverpool believe they have no way of paying such a huge amount - meaning Klopp may have to put his desired reunion to the back of his mind, and look towards other targets this summer.
Do you think Liverpool should break the bank to sign Aubameyang?
