Nemanja Vidic says Manchester United need experience to win titles

The former Man United centre-back has been discussing the current youthful side.

Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic says the club need more experienced players to ease the pressure on their young squad, according to Sky Sports.

And the Serb has stressed the importance of the Old Trafford outfit aiming to win trophies rather than just qualifying for the Champions League.

Vidic is quoted as telling the club's official website: "Manchester United always need to win trophies and when the club don't, players have to accept some criticism and that can be hard for the younger ones to take.

"They need some experienced players to take that weight off their backs."

Speaking of experience, Jose Mourinho would perhaps be the perfect manager to attract the right players to Old Trafford next season.

Mourinho has almost exclusively brought in older, more experienced players at clubs in the past - targeting those at the peak of their career who won't have much to give after one or two exceptional seasons.

But Paris Saint-Germain may well get to Mourinho instead of Manchester United. Could this be a blessing in disguise for United's younger players?

The question is whether Man United's current crop can grow into a title-winning team. Right now, Manchester United are well short of one and, in the table, they are short of a top-four team, too.
