The Reds will take on Everton at home in the Premier League on Wednesday evening, and former Liverpool striker Owen has backed Jurgen Klopp’s side to pick up all three points from the encounter.
“Liverpool were comfortable winners on the south coast on Sunday and these are exciting times at Anfield with a number of young players impressing in the wins against Stoke and Bournemouth in the PL over the last week,” the former England international wrote on Betvictor.com.
“The Reds will play a strong side in the Merseyside Derby whilst Roberto Martinez has to juggle his troops again to make sure his side are ready for their Wembley date with United on Saturday.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Liverpool to win at 3/4.”
Liverpool are in better form than Everton at the moment, and the Reds will head into the Merseyside derby as favourites.
Of course, in a derby the form book goes out of the window, but it is hard to see a win for the Toffees.
Roberto Martinez’s side could earn a draw at Anfield, but it is highly unlikely that they will be able to pick up all three points.
Liverpool will head into the match on the back of a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth away from home at Dean Court in the Premier League.
Everton played out a 1-1 draw with Southampton at Goodison Park in the league last weekend.
