The Argentine admits he may not stay at Man City forever...
Indeed, the experienced full-back admits he may not stay at the Etihad Stadium forever. As Zabaleta ages, the club themselves may well prefer younger, long-term alternatives. They have already been linked with Kieran Tierney from Celtic, for example, even though he plays on the opposite flank.
But supporters have made their feelings about the defender perfectly clear on Twitter.
Manchester City fans are devastated by the possibility of Zabaleta ever leaving the club and want the 31-year-old to stay at the Etihad and retire with City.
The Argentine has enjoyed years of success with Man City and, at his best, is still arguably the best full-back in the Premier League.
Would it be wise to hold on to him for as long as possible, then, or does everyone pass their sell by date at a certain age? Here's how Manchester City fans feel on Twitter...

@pablo_zabaleta We love you Pablo, we don't want to hear you telling the media you are thinking about leaving us!!!!— Pride Of Manchester (@LIVE_LOVE_MCFC) April 19, 2016
@SkyFootball I would be devastated if he left. The passion he shows when he plays I'd amazing, massive loss if he leaves— Patrick Beaumont (@PatrickBeaumon3) April 19, 2016
