Leeds United fans had some welcome good news this week.
Leeds United fans have got used to bad news coming out of Elland Road in recent seasons, so it was somewhat surprising that on Tuesday there was a positive story regarding the club.
Owner Massimo Cellino continues to come under intense pressure to step down by a section of the club’s fans, but his latest gesture has impressed many and rightly so.
As reported by the club’s official website, if Leeds do not secure a play-off place at a minimum next season, fans who purchase their season ticket before May 31 will be refunded 25 per cent of the net price.
That is undeniably a great offer and it is an indication of Leeds’ hopes for the year ahead, but there is more, with the club promising a huge 50 per cent refund of the net price if more than 15,000 people buy their season ticket by July 31.
The club have impressed in recent weeks, winning against Birmingham City and Reading and outplaying high-flying Burnley despite suffering a narrow defeat, and now it seems Cellino has high hopes for the upcoming campaign.
Following the news we took to Twitter to see what Leeds fans thought of Cellino’s decision and you can read a selection of what we found below:
