Mousa Dembele has been one of the stars of Tottenham's outstanding season as they push Leicester City all the way for the Premier League title.
He has made a big impression with his complete performances, and even recorded his first assist of the season last night for Harry Kane's opener in the 4-0 away win over Stoke City.
Dembele is a player who Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has plenty of admiration for, telling SkySports Monday Night Football that he has long believed he was capable of the performances he has displayed this season.
He said: "I always felt he had more to offer. When he was not playing I was surprised, because when he played, he played very well.
"He doesn't lose the ball, he has good balance, he turns very quickly, goes past players, he has been fantastic for Spurs this year, he is vital for them and the game they play."
Last night he won the ball back on eight occasions for Tottenham and was not dispossessed even once, also completing an impressing 86 per cent of his passes.
Fabregas could even have been playing alongside Dembele, with Chelsea's interest in the Belgian reported by The Sun last summer. Tottenham sensibly rejected the Blues advances, and if they had sanctioned a deal, this season could have gone very different for both clubs.
