Former Tottenham player and manager impressed with their big win at Stoke.
Harry Kane and Dele Alli led the way, adding to their tallies for the season by producing moments of brilliance amid a clinical counter attacking display.
An early goal from Kane calmed any nerves in the side, while Stoke could not offer much threat going forward despite the quality in their attack.
Former Spurs manager and player Ossie Ardiles was bowled over by the team's performance and took to Twitter to send a series of messages praising the team.
What an outstanding performance from the boys of @SpursOfficial. Solid in defence, dominating the midfield and creating chances. COYS— osvaldo ardiles (@osvaldooardiles) April 18, 2016
There has been a lot of outstanding performances but this is just sensational. COYS— osvaldo ardiles (@osvaldooardiles) April 18, 2016
Kane struck just nine minutes into the game, curling a superb effort past 40-year-old goalkeeper Shay Given, and then Tottenham slipped into counter attacking mode, hitting Stoke time and time again on the break.
Dele Alli scored the important second goal with a chip over Given, when Spurs could already have been two up after Christian Eriksen hit the bar.
Alli then missed an even easier chance with the goal gaping, before Kane added to the scoreline.
The England midfielder then added to his tally with a superb volley from inside the box from a wonderfully weighted pass from Christian Eriksen, as Stoke folded.
Spurs have now closed the gap with Leicester to five points, and increased their superior goal difference in the process.
