West Ham United and Leicester City played out a score draw at the weekend.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has been speaking to reporters following his side’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City on Sunday, with his comments later published on the Hammers’ official Twitter account.
While West Ham and the Foxes have plenty of players to make headlines it was the performance of the referee that generated the most discussion after the full-time whistle and Bilic has confirmed that he discussed the official’s somewhat bizarre decisions with his opposite number during the match.
Jon Moss sent off Jamie Vardy for a suspected dive before awarding two contentious penalties – one at either end – and it seems the decisions prompted plenty of discussion on the touchline.
Speaking after the game, Bilic said, “Claudio Ranieri and I spoke a few times during the game – about the referee as well!”
The 2-2 draw was of little use to either side, with Leicester seeking to go 10 points clear at the top of the table and West Ham wanting to maintain their challenge for a top-four finish.
As it is the point for the Foxes could yet prove vital, but whatever happens this match will be remembered not for what the players did but for the baffling decisions of the official in charge.
