“I was in Augusta for The Masters and I spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson as we were watching Spurs v Manchester United on TV,” the former Newcastle striker told Kane during an interview for The Sun.
“I asked him what he thought about you. His words to me were: ‘Harry reminds me very much of you — apart from the fact he doesn’t moan at referees all the time!’ Sir Alex spoke very highly of you.”
Kane is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and has been in good form this season.
The England international failed to score for Tottenham against United at White Hart Lane last weekend, but he did play his part and worked hard in the 3-0 victory in the Premier League game.
The 22-year-old has scored 22 goals and created 40 chances in 33 league matches for Tottenham this season.
Kane has a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 63%, and has won 65 headers, 42 dribbles and 22 tackles.
Interestingly, Kane has been linked with a move to United in the summer transfer window. The Independent reported last month that Jose Mourinho wants to sign the youngster for the Red Devils if he becomes their new manager.
