The Argentine struck with a devastating hat-trick to hand his side a 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, taking his career Premier League goal tally to 99.
Sergio Aguero is hoping to grab his 100th Premier League goal at relegation-threatened Newcastle United on Tuesday, after netting a hat-trick in Manchester City's impressive 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
City travel to St James' Park to face a Newcastle side buoyed by a 3-0 win of their own at home to Swansea City, but Aguero has little intention of hanging around on 99 goals for long.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Aguero told reporters at Stamford Bridge: “We still have a few games ahead of us and I am sure I can make 100 goals.
“I will try to do it on Tuesday when we have an important game."
But despite such fine goal-scoring form, the striker admits the fortunes of the team is at the top of the agenda.
A run of three straight Premier League victories has helped ease the pain of defeat in the Manchester derby and place City firmly back in contention for Champions League qualification.
“I'm happy with the three goals, but most importantly with the victory," Aguero added. "Those three points were very important.
"Since I came to City we have never won at Chelsea, so I am very happy. It's a difficult stadium to get the win, so to get three points is good."
City's return to form has largely coincided with the return of Kevin De Bruyne and Samir Nasri, with Aguero adamant that both players have helped him return to his goal-scoring best.
"They are fantastic players, brilliant footballers and I am very happy to have them in my team," he said. "You know that at any given time they can give you an assist."
