The two sides meet in a big clash at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
Of the games they have left, the Hammers are one of those that many feel could be a difficult one for Claudio Ranieri’s team given their opponents are fighting for a top-four place.
Not for Merson though, who believes West Ham’s midweek exit from the FA Cup could mean this is the perfect time to face them.
“[But] if West Ham play anything like they did against Manchester United, Leicester City will win the league on Sunday.
“For me, it’s the right time to face them [West Ham]. They’ve just been knocked out of the cup, they weren’t very good and I think this is the game they could have it wrapped up.”
Leicester will certainly be hoping that West Ham are feeling low when they meet this weekend.
The Foxes' recent form certainly suggests they are favourites for the game as well, with them having started to grind out victories in the same manner Chelsea did last season.
A win would see them go 10 points clear at the top of the table and put the pressure firmly on Tottenham Hotspur once again as they play Stoke City on Monday.
