John Hartson praises Arsenal goal against Crystal Palace

The headers from Alexis Sanchez was a moment of class according to the Welshman.

Arsenal’s goal in the draw with Crystal Palace was a moment of class, former striker John Hartson has told BBC Sport.

The Gunners drew with Alan Pardew’s side on Sunday afternoon as they suffered another disappointing result this season.

They had looked to be on the way to a comfortable victory after Alexis Sanchez gave them the lead following a clever move from himself and Danny Welbeck before a late Yannick Bolasie strike meant they were forced to share the points.

Hartson though, was keen to praise Arsenal’s goal, describing it is a moment of class from Wenger’s team.

"It is an absolute brilliant pass from Danny Welbeck, a dink of a pass with his toe,” he told BBC Sport.

“Alexis Sanchez times his run perfectly and heads it over Wayne Hennessey, who is about 6ft 4in and he lobs him from the penalty spot. It was a moment of class.”

He was not the only one to be impressed by the goal either, with former Southampton striker Matt Le Tissier tweeting his approval during the game.

Despite such an impressive goal bringing smiles at the Emirates, they will know that the result was far from satisfactory.

The Gunners are now facing a fight to ensure they finish in the top four this season as they sit just four points from Manchester United in fifth.

That is an unsatisfactory conclusion to what had promised to be an exciting season for them this year.
