Gary Lineker reacts to Aaron Cresswell goal on Twitter

Aaron Cresswell

The West Ham defender produced a moment of magic in his side's 2-2 draw with Leicester City.

Gary Lineker has praised Aaron Cresswell’s goal for West Ham United on Twitter, despite it coming against his former side.

In a highly charged affair the full back produced a moment of magic as he took down a Michail Antonio cross and fired past a stranded Kasper Schmeichel.

That goal gave the Hammers a late lead in the game before a controversial penalty for the Foxes saw them snatch a late draw in a scintillating finale at the Kingpower Stadium.

And writing on Twitter, Lineker was keen to praise Cresswell’s strike despite it going against his old club.

He was not the only one to credit the full back either, as Richard Keys, Don Hutchinson, David James and Hammers youth product Lewis Page all shared their thoughts.

The Foxes will now be hoping that the draw does not do their title hopes any harm as the season concludes.

The result took them eight points clear at the top of the table, with them now waiting to see how Tottenham Hotspur fare against Stoke City on Monday.

West Ham meanwhile will be left ruing another controversial decision going against them as their Champions League hopes took another blow.
