Andy Carroll highlights how West Ham focus has changed under Bilic

The striker says they focus on their opponents much more than in the past.

Andy Carroll says West Ham United now focus on their opponents more than they used to do as a team, in comments made to the club’s official website.

The former Croatia manager has enjoyed an impressive first campaign in England as his side compete at the top end of the table.

They are currently sixth in the league and competing for a place in the top four and a Champions League place, as the season draws to a close.

While most of their success has been built on Bilic turning West Ham into a dangerous attacking side, Carroll says that they focus on their opponents much more than they did in the past.

“Now, we are all focused on the game against Leicester who have done fantastically this season,” he told whufc.com.

“They were probably favourites to go down and they have turned that round. They are where they are for a reason and we are all really excited.

“Under Slaven we concentrate more on the other team than we did in the past. Before, we focused more on our own tactics, but now, we vary our tactics from game to game.”

The Hammers will now be hoping that they have done their homework as they face Leicester City on Sunday.

The game is likely to be a huge one in both this season’s title race and the race for the top four.

The Foxes seem unbeatable at this moment in time as they surge towards the most unlikely of title triumphs and Carroll and his teammates will have to be at their best to secure the win they need.
