Lucas Joao's performance against Ipswich has divided opinion amongst Sheffield Wednesday fans.

Sheffield Wednesday could only muster a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon, which was at least some sort of response to last weekend's 4-1 defeat to Bristol City.

The Owls took the lead through Fernando Forestieri, but were stunned when Ipswich teenager Andre Dozzell notched a second half equaliser for the Tractor Boys, handing Mick McCarthy's side a share of the spoils at Hillsborough.

The result means Wednesday stay in sixth place, with a five point cushion to seventh placed Cardiff City, meaning they remain on course for a play-off place.

A number of Wednesday's players weren't quite on top form on Saturday though, and one player who divided opinion was striker Lucas Joao.

The 22-year-old, signed from Nacional last summer, was handed a start against Ipswich and played 83 minutes before being replaced by Atdhe Nuhiu, but having failed to find the net, it's now just one goal in his last 22 games for the Portugal international.

Some fans felt that Joao made little impact on the game, and despite his 6ft 3in frame, doesn't play with enough power or strength, urging him to hit the gym this summer, and telling manager Carlos Carvalhal to play Gary Hooper up front instead.

Others felt that Joao worked hard and was merely unlucky against Ipswich, with fans seemingly unable to agree about Joao's performance, summing up the hit-and-miss nature of Joao's season so far.
