Everton are reportedly battling Liverpool for RB Leipzig star Emil Forsberg.

According to the Daily Star, Everton are lining up a £12m bid for RB Leipzig star Emil Forsberg - but city rivals Liverpool are also keen on the Swede.

It remains to be seen whether Roberto Martinez will be Everton manager next season, after a disappointing season under the Spaniard, with a current run of six league games without a win piling the pressure on Martinez.

No matter who is manager, additions will be needed to try and get Everton back towards the European places, with new investor Farhad Moshiri potentially handing major transfer funds to the club.

Now, the Daily Star claim that Everton scouts have been watching RB Leipzig star Emil Forsberg ahead of a possible summer bid of around £12m.

The Swedish international, 24, has been a star for Leipzig ever since signing from Malmo in January 2015, and the left winger now appears to have guaranteed his place in Sweden's starting line-up for the European Championships in France this summer.

A winger who plays with great skill rather than pace, Forsberg has impressed in Germany - even if it is only the second tier - and Everton are believed to be keen on adding him, despite already having wingers like Gerard Deulofeu, Kevin Mirallas and Aaron Lennon.

However, Everton aren't the only team credited with an interest. Ever since Jurgen Klopp became Liverpool boss, Forsberg has been touted for a move to Anfield, and the Daily Star's report claims that the Reds are still keen, meaning a Merseyside tug-of-war could ensue this summer.

Do you think Forsberg should sign for Everton or Liverpool?
