Rangers manager Mark Warburton comments on the Ibrox side’s intention in the summer transfer window.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told BBC Sport (15:15) that winning the Scottish Cup will have an impact on the club's player recruitment in the summer transfer window.

The Gers have progressed to the final of the Scottish Cup after getting the better of Old Firm rivals Celtic in the semi-finals of the prestigious cup competition at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Sunday afternoon.

The Glasgow giants will take on Scottish Championship side Hibernian in the final. If Rangers win that match, then they could find themselves in the Europa League next season.

Rangers manager Warburton has revealed that he would make signings fit the purpose if the Glasgow giants are involved in the European competition next season.

“Of course, if we were to win the final, that would impact on the recruitment process, and we would need another one or two players,” the Englishman told BBC Sport (15;15) when asked about the possibility of playing European football next season.

Rangers have already won the Scottish Championship title this season and will play in the Scottish Premiership during the 2016-17 campaign.

It would be great for the Glasgow giants if they are involved in the Europa League next season, but fans should not get carried away.

The first season back in the Scottish top flight should be all about competing for a top-two or top-three finish in the league.
