Everton drew 1-1 with Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Everton's winless run in the Premier League has now been extended to six games after a 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

The Toffees have been underachieving under Roberto Martinez this season, but looked to be on their way to a vital win after Ramiro Funes Mori put Everton in front on 68 minutes.

However, in true Everton fashion, their defensive woes were exploited just eight minutes later as Sadio Mane equalised for Southampton - and 1-1 is how it finished as the Toffees look ahead to the midweek clash with Liverpool and their FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United next weekend.

Fans had little to cheer about against Southampton, but two young players made their debuts in front of the Goodison Park crowd, with Callum Connolly and Tom Davies coming on as substitutes.

19-year-old defender Connolly has been with the club since 2006, whilst midfielder Davies, 17, joined Everton in 2008, with both Liverpool-born players making their way up through the ranks with Everton.

Fans want to see young players breaking into the first team under Martinez, and both players caught the eye with impressive cameo displays against Southampton.

After the final whistle, Everton fans took to Twitter to praise both players, suggesting that they should be in the starting line-up against Liverpool in midweek.

Others suggested that the two teenagers looked more composed than many experienced players in the Everton side, giving Connolly and Davies huge praise for their performances...
