DaMarcus Beasley sends message to Rangers ahead of Celtic clash

Rangers and Celtic go head-to-head this weekend in a huge semi-final.

Former Rangers player DaMarcus Beasley has taken to Twitter to send a message to the club ahead of their Scottish Cup semi-final clash with Celtic this afternoon.

The Gers recently won promotion back to the Scottish top flight and today sees them go head-to-head with Ronny Deila’s side in a bid to reach the final of the famous competition.

While Celtic will be many people’s favourites for the win there is no doubt Rangers are on the up and Beasley for one is hopeful they will finish the day with another victory under their belts.

“Hopefully I can wake up to knowing the Rangers made it to the final,” Beasley wrote on Sunday. “Good luck from an ex-Ger across the pond.”

The 33-year-old currently plays for Houston Dynamo but he was on the books at Rangers from 2007 to 2010, making 29 appearances in the process.

While the left-sided player struggled for game-time as he neared the end of his Rangers career he still clearly has a soft spot for them and he will be looking out for the result later today.

The fierce rivalry between Celtic and Rangers means this is one match that everyone will be watching – neutrals and fans alike – and it could go either way.
