There now appears to be a general consensus at Chelsea that the only major sale Jose Mourinho got right was that of Juan Mata.
Romelu Lukaku is now top scoring at Everton. There's a strong argument to suggest the Blues needed to sell him for game time as they had Diego Costa. But it's understandable why so many are criticising Chelsea for that one.
The biggest loss, however, was that of Kevin De Bruyne, who shone alongside Sergio Aguero for Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
It was the club's decision to sell the Belgian and both he and Mourinho have been reported to have been against a sale. But the former Chelsea boss still didn't give the 24-year-old enough game time to keep him in west London. If he knew he was going to turn out that good, why didn't he?
The Manchester City man made his former club pay on Saturday, playing his part in a 3-0 win that was ultimately secured by an impressive Aguero hat-trick.
And, unsurprisingly, both Chelsea and Manchester City fans were left raving about De Bruyne on Twitter...
Every time I see Kevin de Bruyne play it makes me sick to the stomach. Iced by Jose after only 9 games. Best manager in world? FFS. #CFC— Tom Ben Howe (@TomBenHowe) April 17, 2016

And that is how we lost two of the most prodigious players in their positions - Lukaku & de Bruyne. Shortsightedness and undue haste. #CFC— Ismail Mohamed (@ismohd87) April 16, 2016
