Arsenal and Crystal Palace went head-to-head this weekend.
Arsenal dropped two precious points this weekend as they could only draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
Alexis Sanchez put the Gunners ahead as he maintained his great recent form but a late Yannick Bolasie strike ensured the Eagles headed back to Selhurst Park with a share of the spoils.
The result also means that Arsenal are only four points ahead of Manchester United in the race for a Champions League qualifying spot and they will be wary of missing out on that given their regular presence in the competition under manager Arsene Wenger.
One player they had to thank for things not being even worse was centre-back Gabriel Paulista.
The Brazilian’s last-ditch tackle prevented Wilfried Zaha from having a clear shot on goal in the dying moments and while he has come in for plenty of criticism this season, on this occasion the defender did well.
That said, fans questioned his role in the build-up to Palace's goal and on this evidence he is still some way from proving the doubters wrong.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what Arsenal fans thought of Gabriel’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Gabriel could have blocked that bolasie shot/goal so easily. The sooner he's dropped for Chambers the better.— Adam (@adam_afc_1886) April 17, 2016
Feel Gabriel should have done better against Adebayor as well #AFC— Özil's 11 (@MiaSanOezil) April 17, 2016
Why did Gabriel not put Adebayor in the stands then? The ball should never have got that far down the pitch. Same old same old #afc— Graham Smith (@gStennis_AFC) April 17, 2016
Gabriel is actually useless— Luk3 (@Luk3_AFC) April 17, 2016
Gabriel at least has 5/6 moments in every game that make you tear your hair out. #afc— Sidd (@Gooner__Sidd) April 17, 2016
Truth is Gabriel save us a point from this game. That tackle on Zaha was crucial.— daZeder- (@WishingWelbz) April 17, 2016
