Well-known sports presenter Richard Keys has suggested on Sport360.com that Liverpool should sell striker Daniel Sturridge in the summer transfer window.
Keys has also claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp needs to keep hold of attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
“There is a little bit more to do yet but Klopp knows exactly what is needed and we can expect them to be a major force again next year,” the former Sky Sports presenter told Sport360.com. “He needs to make sure he hangs on to Coutinho but I would get rid of Sturridge.”
Coutinho is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League at the moment and is a key player for Liverpool.
The Brazil international is not always consistent in his performances, but his creativity, imagination and ability to score from distance are hugely important for the Reds.
The 23-year-old, who can also play as a winger, has scored seven goals and created 36 chances.
Sturridge is a very good striker, but the main concern with him is his fitness. The England international has scored five goals and created four chances in nine Premier League appearances so far this season.
Liverpool are eighth in the Premier League table at the moment with 48 points from 31 matches.
