Southampton have reportedly made a move for 1860 Munich striker Rubin Okotie.

According to German newspaper Kicker, Southampton have approached 1860 Munich striker Rubin Okotie, who will be a free agent this summer

The Saints already have some attacking options, with Ronald Koeman able to call upon the likes of Graziano Pelle, Shane Long, Charlie Austin and Jay Rodriguez up top.

However, Koeman may yet look to add more attacking talent to his squad, with Austrian international Rubin Okotie believed to be a target for Southampton this summer.

6ft 2in striker Okotie, 28, has turned out for the likes of Austria Vienna, Nurnberg, Sint-Truidense, Sturm Graz, SønderjyskE and now 1860 Munich, where he has impressed since his 2014 move to the Allianz Arena.

With 28 goals in 60 games for 1860 Munich, Okotie has been prolific even if it is in the second division of German football – and with his contract expiring, many clubs are believed to be pursuing the free agent attacker.

Kicker claim that Southampton have approached Okotie about a move to England, but face competition from the likes of CSKA Moscow, Mainz and Hamburg this summer.

The Austrian international is in line to play at Euro 2016 this summer, where he may want to impress before signing a deal as a free agent – but with at least four clubs keen, he may well receive plenty of offers before Euro 2016 even begins.
