The Crotone defender is guiding his club to promotion.
Aston Villa are on their way down to the Championship for next season after a poor campaign. The club are currently sitting bottom of the Premier League and this weekend could find themselves relegated to the Championship.
With that in mind plans must have now started for next term and the potential transfers that can help them adapt to life in the second tier.
One potential option appears to be talented Italian defender Gianmarco Ferrari.
Villa were said to be interested in the 24-year-old centre-back in January and now Tutto Mercato Web is claiming that interest remains and Villa might be keen on bringing him in this summer.
The Crotone defender is however also wanted by Italian giants Juventus – who would likely want to sign him on a co-ownership agreement.
Ferrari has had a decent season in Serie B. The rough diamond has played 35 times for the club, who will win promotion to Serie A if they win their next game against Cesena on Monday night.
With that in mind it is hard to see why Ferrari would swap a team on the up in Italy for Villa or choose the Midlands side over Juventus this summer.
