Mark Hughes shares his opinion on Tottenham Hotspur

Mark Hughes Press Conference Disappointed 12/02/2014

Tottenham Hotspur have experienced a wonderful campaign thus far.

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has labelled Tottenham Hotspur an 'outstanding team' as the two sides prepare to lock horns at the Britannia Stadium on Monday, Sky Sports reports.

Spurs head in to the encounter looking to keep up the pressure on Premier League leaders Leicester City.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have experienced a wonderful campaign thus far, and they sealed Champions League football with a superb 3-0 win over Manchester United last weekend.

The improvements at White Hart Lane made under Pochettino are startling, and Stoke boss Hughes admits his side are in for tough match as he analyses the opposition to the media.

“They are an outstanding team with a good work ethic and good individual talent. And they will feel this is a huge opportunity for them and have a real go,” Hughes told Sky Sports.

"But we seem to do well against teams that are positive against us, so hopefully that is the case on Monday."

Tottenham’s last trip the Britannia Stadium ended in a 3-0 defeat for the North London club, yet this time around they have reason to be optimistic as they seek all three points.

Pochettino’s side have lost just one of their last 12 league matches, while Stoke’s home form has been patchy of late with two defeats in their last five matches at the Britannia.

Spurs arguably need to win all of their remaining games to keep their title hopes alive, and with the quality in their squad it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them push Leicester right to the end.
