Gary Lineker reacts on Twitter to De Bruyne's performance... jokes about Chelsea

The Match of the Day host took to Twitter as Manchester City convincingly swept the Blues aside.

Gary Lineker took to Twitter to mock Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester City dismissed the Blues with ease at Stamford Bridge after a Sergio Aguero hat-trick - and the Match of the Day host couldn't help but joke at their expense on social media.

Indeed, Lineker rued Chelsea's decision to let Kevin De Bruyne go - who is now starring for Man City - but also took a swipe at Chelsea's lowly Premier League position.

He tweeted during Manchester City's easy victory:

It really is a sorry state of affairs for Chelsea right now. How could last season's Premier League champions sink so low this time around?

There are a variety of factors, of course. The players were overworked, Jose Mourinho made mistakes and Guus Hiddink hasn't been given the incentive to take the club forward - just to ensure they stayed up...

Some players have been found out and others have been found wanting. As for Manchester City and De Bruyne, however, it's looking like a very strong end to a season that, at one point, promised nothing but disappointment.
