Former Swansea City manager Garry Monk predicted on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, April 15) that Newcastle United will fail to win on Saturday afternoon.
Newcastle will take on Swansea at St. James’ Park in the Premier League in a few hours’ time.
Monk believes that the match will finish in a draw, and he has also predicted the league fixture between Norwich City and Sunderland at Carrow Road to end in a draw.
“I can see a draw,” said Monk on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, April 15) when asked for his prediction of the game between Norwich and Sunderland. “I think it’s a draw, the way Sam will set them up away from home.”
About the Newcastle against Swansea game, the Englishman said that he is going for a "bore draw".
Norwich, Sunderland and Newcastle are all fighting for survival in the Premier League at the moment, and it is clear two of those three sides will get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season along with Aston Villa.
Playing at home against Sunderland is certainly going to help Norwich, who probably need four or five points more to secure their Premier League status for next season.
Newcastle are in a terrible run of form at the moment and have to pick up all three points against Swansea in order to maintain a realistic chance of escaping the drop to the Championship.
