Confirmed Everton v Southampton lineups: Gibson handed surprise start, Lukaku on the bench

Everton host Southampton in the Premier League this afternoon - here is how the teams line up.

Everton will be hoping to end a five-game winless run when they take on Southampton this afternoon.

The Toffees have been underachieving with Roberto Martinez this season, and ahead of a big Merseyside derby with Liverpool in midweek, Martinez has rotated his squad.

Bryan Oviedo starts at left back in place of Leighton Baines, whilst Muhamed Besic and Darron Gibson start in central midfield, with James McCarthy suspended.

Arouna Kone starts up front with the unfit Romelu Lukaku on the bench, whilst Leon Osman also starts in place of substitute Ross Barkley.

Youngster Tom Davies and Callum Connolly are on the bench, alongside January signing Oumar Niasse.

Meanwhile, Southampton have won three of their last four games, and will be hoping to continue that against Everton.

Ronald Koeman's side are pushing for a Europa League place, and having beaten Newcastle 3-1 last week, the Saints are in fine form.

Cuco Martina continues at right back in place of Cedric Soares, whilst in-form Graziano Pelle leads the line having impressed in recent weeks.

Jay Rodriguez is on the bench, alongside the likes of Oriol Romeu, James Ward-Prowse and Maarten Stekelenburg.
