He posted 60 touches in total, the second most of any Sunderland player, with just two of those proving to be unsuccessful.
Elsewhere he managed five won tackles, again the most in his team, as well as ten defensive duels won and eight aerial duels won.
He also coupled that with five effective clearances, nine ball recoveries and won the ball seven times in the midfield third in an all round composed defensive display.
His passing was on form as he managed 24 accurate passes in total, again the most of any Black Cats player on the day.
