Everton are set to take on Southampton at Goodison Park at the weekend.
Everton are set to host Ronald Koeman’s side at Goodison Park, but with an FA Cup semi-final on the horizon the match serves as a slight distraction.
Everton are understandably prioritising beating Manchester United at Wembley next weekend, and Martinez appears to be keen not to take any risks with his players ahead of that contest.
As a result, the Spaniard could name a much changed line-up against the Saints, with a few youngsters having a chance of being selected to start.
“Every game is an opportunity for every member of the squad,” Martinez said.
“Tomorrow is going to be down to how strong we can be with the squad really, really stretched. We may even give a couple of youngsters an opportunity.”
Everton are likely to finish in a mid table spot in the Premier League, meaning that the success of their season will now be defined on how well they perform in the FA Cup.
The Toffees have disappointed in the league, but if they are able to win silverware at the end of the season that will serve as some consolation.
To win the FA Cup, Everton first need to triumph over Manchester United, and then they will need to beat the winners of Crystal Palace’s match against Watford in the final.
