Rio Ferdinand reacts on Twitter to Champions League draw, predicts finalists

Manchester City, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are the four Champions League semi-finalists this season.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Manchester City will fail to progress to the final of the Champions League this season.

Premier League outfit City will take on Spanish and European giants Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the prestigious European competition this campaign.

German powerhouse Bayern Munich will face Spanish side Atletico Madrid in the other last-four tie.

Former United and England international centre-back Ferdinand believes that the final of the Champions League this season will be between the two Madrid teams.

Madrid are a better team that City and will head into the semi-final tie against favourites. However, over two legs, anything is possible, as the Citizens showed that in their quarter-final tie.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side got the better of French giants Paris Saint-Germain and deservedly qualified for the last four.

Atletico won against Barcelona in the last round, and Diego Simeone’s side side will certainly fancy their chances against Bayern, who are probably the strongest team left in the competition.
