With Champions League football returning to White Hart Lane next season, manager Mauricio Pochettino will be in the market for new signings during the summer transfer window - and central midfield could be an area that he looks to strengthen.
Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb have barely made an impact this season, and with Tom Carroll's future in question, Pochettino could seek competition for Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele, with Riechedly Bazoer believed to be a target for the club.
The Mirror report that Tottenham are in the race to land Ajax midfielder Bazoer, but will have to beat off interest from London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea to sign the Dutchman.
Bazoer, 19, has emerged as one of the rising stars of Dutch football, with five goals and four assists to his name, impressing as a box-to-box midfielder for Frank de Boer's side.
Ajax won't sell Bazoer without a fight, but much like Tottenham's former Ajax stars Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen, bigger and better things beckon for the midfielder.
Whether Spurs can beat Arsenal and Chelsea to his signature remains to be seen, but with Champions League football and funds coming from the new Premier League TV deal, Pochettino's men can certainly put up a fight against their London rivals.
Do you think Spurs can sign Bazoer?
