According to a report in The Sun, Mauricio Pochettino has not signed a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur yet, as he is fearful that the North London side’s impending move to a new stadium could make his job harder.
Tottenham are having to invest over £400 million into developing a new ground, which could leave Pochettino short of money to spend in upcoming transfer windows.
Spurs are eager to tie Pochettino’s future down, and they are more than willing to offer him improved terms to try and convince him to stay at White Hart Lane.
However, Pochettino is in no rush to commit his future, even though he is believed to be very happy at White Hart Lane.
The Argentine boss is excited by the team he has created at Spurs, but he wants further assurances that the move to the new ground will not restrict him.
The Sun now suggest that Spurs securing investment from US businessman Jeff Moorad could hold the key for Pochettino committing his future.
Moorad is keen to put money into Spurs, and if Pochettino is given more funds to spend it is believed that he will put pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal.
