According to a report in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, Leicester City defender Callum Elder is likely to return to Peterborough United next season.
Elder’s current contract at Leicester expires in the summer, but Posh are confident that he will be offered new terms to stay at the King Power Stadium, which would allow Graham Westley’s side to make a loan bid.
Elder was on loan at Posh over the early part of this season, and he made a huge impression before being ruled out with injury.
The Australian defender had become an integral part of Posh’s side, with his performances at left-back catching the eye.
Elder made 21 appearances for Posh between August and December, before damaging his foot in a match against Blackpool.
The full-back has been out ever since, but Posh are optimistic that they will able to bring him back to the ABAX Stadium next season.
Since Elder’s injury, Posh’s form has dipped, with Westley’s side now sit in 14th place in the League One table.
